American Board of Pediatrics (Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine)
Professional History
Dr. Brian Kalish is a neonatologist and neurobiologist and serves as the Director of the Program in Neonatal Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity. Dr. Kalish studied Public Health at Johns Hopkins and completed medical school at Harvard. After residency in the Boston Combined Program in Pediatrics on the Accelerated Research Pathway, he completed fellowship in the Harvard Program in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Dr. Kalish was a Staff Neonatologist, Director of Neonatology Research, and Scientist in the Program in Neuroscience and Mental Health at the Hospital for Sick Children before returning to Boston Children's Hospital in 2024. His clinical expertise is in neonatal neuroscience and his research focuses on understanding mechanisms and developing new therapies for fetal and neonatal brain injury. Dr. Kalish also serves as Associate Medical Director of the Critical Care Transport Team.
