Professional History

During my training as a medical student, I found neurology to be fascinating and I was struck by how challenging neurological disorders could be for individuals and their families. I decided to devote myself to diagnosing, treating and helping people with neurological disorders. I chose to become a pediatric neurologist, specifically, to work with children. Nothing compares to their genuine honesty, purity and resiliency. I cherish the connection I form with them and their families. Listening to the children and their parents is the most important diagnostic tool I use in patient care. I not only dive into details regarding the family’s primary concerns, I look beyond that to gain a comprehensive picture of the child in order to address any other potential contributing factors.

Approach to Care
I tailor my treatment approach to meet the needs of the individual and their families. I try to maximize non-medication approaches and I am conservative when it comes to prescribing medication. If medication is needed, my goal is to prescribe the lowest dose that is effective to minimize adverse side effects. Over time, I customize the medication regimen to optimally meet the needs of each child. I make individualizing care a top priority and work in partnership with families to optimize care.
