Professional History

Dr. Ibeziako is Boston Children’s first Associate Chief Quality Officer for Behavioral Health. She provides institutional leadership in the development and implementation of mental and behavioral health quality and safety initiatives and measures related healthcare outcomes across the enterprise. She has conducted studies on pediatric suicidal and aggressive behaviors, and mental health boarding, and developed interventions to improve access to care and outcomes for children and adolescents experiencing mental health crises.

Nationally, she has been at the forefront of developing mental health clinical pathways and guidelines, particularly related to the intersection of physical and mental health, including the first national scientific statement by the American Heart Association on psychosocial outcomes and interventions in congenital heart disease across the life span, and the first clinical pathway on Somatic Symptom and Related Disorders for inpatient pediatric hospital settings in North America.

Dr Ibeziako is also involved in global mental health training and advocacy.
