Your first appointment at the hospital is always with the International Center. We ask that, whenever possible, you schedule the initial appointment with the center at least one day before any physician visit or scheduled procedures.

When you arrive at the hospital, please proceed directly to the International Center office (located In the Pavilion Building, Room 119). The center will be your primary hospital contact throughout your stay In Boston. The center is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time), Monday through Friday, and has a dedicated voice mail system after hours (1-617-355-5209) that’s always checked the following business day.

Your International Center Team

When you arrive at the center, you’ll meet with your dedicated case coordinator, who serves as your personal guide to the hospital and works closely with you to ensure that your child and family receive the best possible service and care. The case coordinator will review your child’s appointments, verify financial information, provide an orientation of hospital buildings and resources, and answer any questions you may have.

What to Bring

Please bring the passports of both the patient and legal guardian(s) accompanying the patient. Your case coordinator will make photocopies of the front page, visa, I-94 document, and U.S. entry stamp. They will also note the length of stay authorized by the entry stamp and discuss the procedure for visa extensions. A visa extension may become necessary if your child requires additional medical treatment.

Coordinated Care

As your child progresses through the evaluation and treatment process, your case coordinator will arrange all additional physician appointments, outpatient visits, or hospital admissions. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s diagnosis or treatment, your coordinator can help address them.

In addition, our staff is available to help you get acclimated to Boston. We offer a variety of concierge services and can provide assistance with local shopping, transportation, cultural activities, household needs such as childcare and laundry, and more. We’ll take care of the details so you can focus on helping your child get well.
