Professional History

Jamie Harris is a nurse practitioner with more than a decade spent working at Boston Children's Hospital. Before joining the Heart Center, she was a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit, and maintains a special interest in the well-being of infants and their families. She provides medical leadership for the Keeping the Beat Retreat for patients with pacemakers and implantable-cardioverter defibrillators, and enjoys teaching new staff in our Cardiovascular and Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Fellowship.

Approach to Care
My philosophy of care has always centered around educating and empowering families. My role is not just to provide care, but to support families caring for their children, and young adults learning to care for themselves. I enjoy getting to know my patients and putting their healthcare needs in the context of their individual personalities, identities, interests, and goals.
