Katherine Pumphrey, MD, MHA, MSHP graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies. At the University of Maryland, she was a member of the varsity women’s lacrosse team and served as Captain during her senior year. She completed her medical education at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where she also received her Master of Health Administration. Dr. Pumphrey completed her Pediatric residency training at Weill Cornell Medical Center and served as Chair of the Weill Cornell Housestaff Quality Council.
After residency, Dr. Pumphrey transitioned to Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During fellowship, Dr. Pumphrey earned her Master of Science in Health Policy Research with a Concentration in Healthcare Quality and Safety at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Pumphrey is interested in quality improvement, operations, and implementation and is excited to combine these fields to improve evidence based and guideline recommended care for pediatric patients.
