Professional History

Dr. Jenkins is a senior member of the Department of Cardiology and the Executive Director for the Center for Applied Pediatric Quality Analytics. She is a clinical researcher with expertise in design and implementation of innovative clinical studies enabled by artificial intelligence to improve healthcare delivery. She is an expert in the management of pulmonary vein stenosis who identified neoproliferation as the mechanism for progression and leads novel treatment protocols with chemotherapeutic agents. She is an expert is quality measurement and developed the RACHS method to assess outcomes after cardiac surgery. She is a national leader in the field of pediatric cardiology through roles in the Congenital Heart Public Health Consortium, American College of Cardiology and American Academy of Pediatrics. She leads the International Quality Improvement Collaborative for Congenital Heart Disease: Improving Care in Low and Middle Income Countries to improve equitable access to life-saving care for CHD in low resource environments.

Approach to Care
My interest in medicine started at a young age when my mother shared nursing stories at our dinner table. The passion and commitment of pediatric caregivers to vulnerable children and families was something I wanted to be part of. As an artist and scientist, I bring creative solutions to the bedside to address difficult problems.
