Professional History
Dr. Michael Callahan received his BS degree from Hobart College, and his MD degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Tufts Medical Center, and a fellowship in pediatric radiology at Boston Children's Hospital.
Dr. Callahan is currently an Associate Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School, Medical Director of Computed Tomography, Physician Director for Radiation Safety, and Division Chief of abdominal Imaging at Boston Children’s Hospital.
His research interests include CT dose optimization, abdominal imaging and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He is a member of the Image Gently® Steering Committee, and will be the Secretary of the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR) from 2016-2019.
