Dr. Williams earned his medical degree from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. He completed pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by fellowship training in pediatric cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he served as Chief Fellow. He subsequently completed a senior fellowship in pediatric heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. While in fellowship, Dr. Williams’ research was funded by an institutional training grant from the National Institutes of Health (T32), and he was awarded the Kane/Owens Award for Compassionate Care.
Dr. Williams is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics, and is a member of the International Society of Heart & Lung Transplantation. He is also a member of the Pediatric Heart Transplant Society (PHTS) and the Advanced Cardiac Therapies Improving Outcomes Network (ACTION). His clinical interests include pediatric heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, antithrombotic therapy, and cardio-oncology. His research focuses on clinical management and outcomes for children with heart failure and following heart transplantation. He has authored or co-authored over 20 publications and has presented his research at meetings of the International Society of Heart & Lung Transplantation as well as the American Transplant Congress.
