Professional History
Thea Brennan-Krohn earned her BA in Classics from Brown University and her MD from Stanford University School of Medicine, then completed a Pediatrics residency and Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. She also completed a medical microbiology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and is a diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology. Dr. Brennan-Krohn joined the division of Infectious Diseases as faculty in 2017.
Dr. Brennan-Krohn has research and clinical interests in antibiotic resistance and in diagnostic microbiology. She performs research in the laboratory of Dr. James Kirby at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where she investigates the activity of antibiotic combinations against multidrug-resistant bacteria and yeast.
Approach to Care
As an Infectious Diseases clinician at Boston Children's Hospital, I have the opportunity to care for children with a wide range of infections, including Lyme disease, viral infections such as CMV, and infections of the bones and joints. The broad spectrum of illnesses that Infectious Diseases doctors treat means that there is always more to learn, and I am grateful for the expertise of the collaborative team of doctors in our division. I particularly enjoy helping children and their families understand their diagnoses and treatment plans.
