Professional History

Tracy Curran is a full-time Clinical Exercise Physiologist with over 20 years’ experience in clinical exercise testing in the congenital and acquired heart disease population. In addition, she has over 15 years’ experience educating allied health students, professionals, health care providers, patients, and families on the importance of exercise testing and training. Her research focus is on the positive impact that exercise training and mindfulness practices have on the health and wellness of children with and without disease. She is the co-developer and program development manager of the Heart Center's Cardiac Fitness Program.

Her dissertation research identified specific content for a formal pediatric cardiac rehabilitation curriculum for children and adolescents with congenital heart disease. This research will serve to benefit all pediatric heart center programs across the country. Boston Children’s Hospital is taking the first steps to apply these findings to this program which will be studied for years to come.

Approach to Care
I entered into the field of Exercise Physiology because I have always been active in sports and fitness. My passion lies within the fitness field and I enjoy coaching and counseling patients towards better health through exercise. My primary goal as an exercise physiologist is to help people of all ages become healthy and active and find true enjoyment from exercise.
