Pediatric primary care

We want to partner with your family throughout your child’s developmental milestones. We see patients beginning at birth and will follow your child through young adulthood. Our dedicated staff of medical providers, nurses, social workers, dietitians, and child life specialists are ready to assist your family as your child continues to grow.

Adolescent and young adult care

As your child becomes a young adult, we provide medical, gynecological, nutritional, psychological care, and counseling to meet them at every stage of their development. We see patients between ages 13 and 21.

Primary care, behavioral health, and social work services

Parenting can be challenging, and we’re here to help. If you're concerned about your child's behavior or mental health — or if your family needs support — our team offers a range of services.

Our behavioral health team (including licensed clinical social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists) provides crisis assessments, behavioral consultations, brief interventions, parental support, and referrals for counseling. We also offer medication consultation, assessment, and management, in close collaboration with your child’s primary care physician.

Our primary care team also provides screening and support around health-related social needs. Patient navigators and social workers can help with housing, food, and emergency financial assistance. Talk to your child’s doctor or ask to speak with an on-call social worker for support.

Vaccines

At Boston Children’s Primary Care, we believe preventive care is key to keeping your family and our community healthy — and vaccination is one of the most effective tools. Our physicians strongly support the safety and effectiveness of vaccines in preventing serious illness and saving lives.

We encourage all children and young adults to receive vaccines according to the recommended schedule from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Our training

We are committed to providing you with the highest quality of care. As the main pediatric teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School, your child may be seen by a physician-in-training or medical student alongside our seasoned medical professionals. We also partner with numerous nursing schools throughout New England and are proud to be the at the forefront of medical education. Our trainees work under the supervision of experienced doctors and nurses to bring a fresh perspective and offer up-to-date knowledge.

Quality improvements

We’re committed to keeping patients and families safe. Our Safety Committee identifies high-impact safety events and works to reduce risks in our clinic. As an Accountable Care Organization (ACO), we focus on delivering high-quality, cost-effective care through better coordination and fewer unnecessary services.

We also want your voice to be heard. Our Parent Advisory Board gives families the opportunity to advocate for quality care, safety and patient experience. New members are always welcome to join and help shape the future of our care.
