The Kawasaki Disease Program at Boston Children’s Hospital provides coordinated care for patients with all stages of Kawasaki disease, from diagnosis through long-term follow-up.
Kawasaki disease causes inflammation of many tissues of the body, including the hands, feet, whites of the eyes, mouth, lips and throat. If not diagnosed and treated early, it can cause damage to the coronary arteries, the blood vessels that supply oxygen to the heart. This damage may be temporary or can affect children long-term.
