  • Initial evaluations (your first visit): 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Follow-up visits: 8 a.m. to noon Monday and 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday

What to bring

  • Your child's PPD measurement and date of the test
  • Previous chest X-rays
  • Insurance card(s)
  • Name and telephone number of your referring physician
  • Co-payment for office visit (if applicable)
  • Any forms mailed to you by our office

What to expect

At your first clinic visit, your child will be seen by one of our doctors or nurse practitioners. The visit will include a complete physical exam and medical history. A variety of tests to help confirm a diagnosis of TB infection may also be performed. These may include a chest X-ray.

After your examination, we will discuss our findings with you and recommend the best course of treatment.

We'll also provide you with educational materials about TB and will show you how to care for your child at home, including how to give your child his or her medication.

Your first clinic visit usually lasts 60 to 90 minutes. Follow-up visits are usually shorter.

Picking up your prescription

Anti-tuberculosis medications are provided free of charge by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Your prescription must be filled at the Boston Children's Hospital Pharmacy.

Nursing line

Nurses are available to answer clinical and prescription questions, review test results, and address urgent matters.
