Michael Scott Dr. R. Michael Scott, a distinguished neurosurgeon and researcher, passed away on August 4, 2023. Renowned for his expertise in treating brain vascular malformations and advancing stroke treatment in children, Dr. Scott was deeply respected caregiver, leader, and educator at Boston Children’s and Harvard Medical School. His profound influence on global neurosurgery earned him lifetime achievement awards from organizations such as the Neurosurgical Society of America and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Scott’s legacy lives on through the numerous pediatric neurosurgery programs led by the physicians he mentored — a testament to impact as a mentor and innovator in the field.
